Bird of the Week: European Robin

Image result for European robin

Hello, Reader. I hope you had an amazing holiday and that you didn't miss us too much during our break. But enough niceties; let's get into this shit. The European Robin, or more commonly known in Europe as a "Robin", has a little bit of a complex history. Since you, Reader, have already read the last Bird of the Week, you're pretty up to date on your Thrush info. Can you believe that this little guy used to be classified as one, a Thrush that is? I'm sure that even you, Reader, (no offence) can tell that this is clearly an Old World flycatcher. How did it go for so long under the wrong classification? My bets are that the Deutsche Ornithologen-Gesellschaft were probably too busy trying to fix their website.  Anyway now that we've all had some fun poking at the Deutsche Ornithologen-Gesellschaf (I know, low hanging fruit) it's time we say our goodbyes. Keep an eye out for more articles this week, and have a happy New Year!

Side Note: I just wanted to thank you, Reader, for helping us reach 1,000 pageviews. Seriously thank you for all of your support and I hope you will continue to check back when you have the time.
