Bird of the Week: The Dark-eyed Junco
Fuck yes, Reader. It's the Dark-eyed Junco! Personally I think "dark-eyed" is a pretty piss poor adjective to describe birds, because are they not all dark-eyed? I'm sorry if some of my personal bias is effecting what should be objective journalism, but come the fuck on, right Reader?
Well, maybe I'm wrong (but I doubt it). There could totally be a Light-eyed Junco that I just don't know about, but if I'm being honest with you, I don't have the time to find out and I'm assuming that you don't either.
There are about 15 different races of the Dark-eyed Junco that all have different colored feathers, which is pretty cool I guess, I don't really care though. They're also described as "ground birds", which like, what the fuck does that mean? Does that not defeat the entire purpose of being a bird? The entire species has the power of flight, but they're all just like, "Nah, fuck it." Honestly a power move and I respect it.
Thank you so much for reading and look out for more articles coming this week.
